Does Lava support international payments?

International Payment Support

Yes. Lava processes payments through Stripe, which supports customers and merchants in 40+ countries with 135+ currencies.

For end users (customers)

  • Global card support. Users can fund their wallet with Visa, Mastercard, and American Express cards issued in any country.
  • Local payment methods. Depending on the user's location, additional methods may be available through Stripe (e.g., SEPA, iDEAL).
  • Currency conversion. Wallet balances are denominated in USD. Non-USD payments are automatically converted at the time of funding.

For merchants

  • Stripe Connect Express. Merchants onboard through Stripe Connect, which supports payouts in 40+ countries.
  • Payout currencies. Merchants receive payouts in their local currency where supported by Stripe.
  • Tax compliance. Stripe handles tax reporting requirements based on the merchant's jurisdiction.

Limitations

  • Wallet balances are currently USD-denominated only.
  • Availability of specific payment methods depends on Stripe's coverage in each country.
  • Some countries may have restrictions on Stripe Connect onboarding — check Stripe's country availability for details.
